I know it is not brand new, but chevron seems to be all the rage right now!
It has really caught my eye! We’ve all seen this pattern in the world of design over the last few years in rugs, on pillows, wallpaper, etc., but lately it is being used everywhere including walls, artwork and window treatments. I just can’t get enough of it! I love how bold it is. I looked up in Webster Dictionary the meaning of the word chevron which is described as a noun:
- A line or stripe in the shape of a V or an inverted V, esp. one on the sleeve of a uniform indicating rank or length of service.
- An ordinary in the form of a broad inverted V-shape.
In the design world, it used to be home accessory trends would come out a year later after being seen on the runways. But in today’s fast world, it seems the interior design trends are coming out at the same time as the fashion designs. These chevron patterned dresses are hot right now:
And so are these hot interiors!:
Another one of my new favorite things:
Gray and yellow together!!
Chevron can look really great in a room being used as a large accent:
And also look just as beautiful being used in a small way:
Do you have this chevron pattern in your home? If not, how would you like to incorporate this look into your space??
