Don’t you love looking at room pictures when they actually list the paint color? I do. Although you are still looking through the computer screen, you get a much better idea of a color rather than just looking at a small paint sample. Here are just a few of my Benjamin Moore favorites:

Kendall Charcoal HC-166
Chalk White 2126-70 9 (a light gray)
Love this blue:
Van Deusen Blue HC-156
Merlot Red 2006-10
Bittersweet Chocolate 2114-10
Come Sail Away 846
Richmond Bisque Ext. RM
Iceberg 2122-50
Blue Seafoam 2056-60
This next color Storm is getting really popular as more people are noticing it:

Storm AF-700

Overcast OC-43

Nightingale AF-670
Love, love this navy:
Old Navy 2063-10
All of the photos above were taken from House Beautiful. Below are a few of Pottery Barn’s favorite Ben Moore paint colors:

I hope these photos have helped you visualize what the paint colors will actually look like in your room and help narrow down your choices to a favorite color, or feel, to your room. This post and photos has actually helped me figure out a whole color scheme for a guest room I just started working on again. I am so excited! I love when it just clicks! I will write you all about the room redesign. Another day, another story. Stay tuned.
Comments please! Did you find a new color you love?
P.S. I do not work for BM. I just have worked with Ben Moore colors for so many years now that I feel comfortable suggesting them to you because I know they have really great colors and a great consistent formula for the walls.

Where is the gray comforter from??
I interpreted the chip exactly as you did, Kelly, and it “matched” my new panels that have a greenish undertone! I am shocked! I keep going up to look, in bright sunlight and incandescent light, and it’s STILL a gray-blue (hahaha). I thought I was going crazy until I read this attached to the same pic you have above: “The pale blue furnishings and rug bring out the bluish undertones of the paint.” (Avery Design Interiors Blog). So, I think this is one of those chameleon colors that you really have to experiment with on your own walls. I am now convinced that lighter colors are harder to pick than darker ones!!! I’ve spent almost as much $ on samples, as on the paint I have used (except in this room!!)
When I look at the sample of Overcast oc-43, against a white surface, I see green undertones! Isn’t that funny? Maybe it looks blue to you because of your colors in the room I wonder? Or the lighting? Thanks for letting me know this about the color. It really is best to sample and this is another perfect example!
Ahhh, I could look at paint colors all day long! Just a comment on the Overcast room. I have seen people describe this as having a tan-taupe undertone, and that is what you would think if you obtained a paint chip from the store. I just painted a room Overcast, and it definitely has a distinct BLUE undertone. And, not just a subtle tinge of blue, either! The picture above (and also on the Benjamin Moore site) does not seem blue to me (at least on my monitor). But in an empty room, with off-white trim and very light off-white carpet that leans toward taupe, I read the Overcast as a cool “French Blue” that is grayed-down a little. This is a color you definitely want to test-paint (not that you shouldn’t test-paint all colors!).
I tried looking at darker colors with the color gray owl- the green undertones are showing with all the colors except maybe the darker greens such as brookside moss 2145-30, olive branch 2143-30 or rosemary sprig 2144-30. Those are just a few examples to give you an idea where to look.I think the gray owl looks great with the deep space but I see what you mean. Hope this helps!
love the drama. I painted my kitchen Grey Owl and a big feature wall in Deep Space. But..so much light has made the green come out in the grey owl. Any coloe I can paint the feature wall to tone down the green in the grey owl? I want dark, bold, dramatic! Help
Seeing the color names associated with the room photos is a great idea. We have always thought about doing this on our sites but now sold on the idea. Benjamin Moore has always had the best color names on the market. They do the best job of expressing an emotion behind the color with their names.
Thanks,

Loved looking at those pictures. I recognize a lot of the BM paint names and so nice to see the finished product. I’m already thinking of where I can use that Hawthorne Yellow or the Monroe Bisque. Beautiful. Thanks.
These are so pretty, Kelly. And so helpful- especially with the lighter colors. I am eady to paint!
Do you people have a facebook fan page for Ben Moore Paint Colors Live! | Restyling Home by Kelly? I searched for 1 online but could not find it, I’d really like to become your fan!
Very interesting. Subscribed!
It really helps people ‘see’ what the color does for the room.
These kinds of pics always help to visualize the tiny paint chip in real life! Thanks for sharing
