The Other Pantone 2012 Spring Colors

Written by Kelly on March 6th, 2012

I have been seeing the color Tangerine Tango showing up more and more in home furnishings and accessories. And I do realize Tango won first place:

But there are a few more beautiful colors that were also chosen as top Pantone 2012 colors. As much as I like the tangerine, I also love to see all of these other Pantone picks that are showing up on the fashion runway and coming into our homes:

Did you know Crate & Barrel has announced yellow as the color for Spring 2012?

I love the color Sodalite Blue! It works so well with all of the other spring pick colors. How beautiful is this room?:

Cabaret, an intense rosy-red hue:

Starfish, a warm neutral hue:

Margarita, a piquant yellow-green hue:

Sweet Lilac, a pinkish lilac hue:

Driftwood, a beige-grey blend:

Bellflower, an ornamental purple:

And a beautiful blue gray color Cockatoo:

The photo above is going to be one of my all time favorite gorgeous rooms!!

So when you see these great colors popping up in home design, you will know they are also the hot, new colors of 2012!

Can you pick a favorite??

We just painted our whole house oulesrves so I know how much work painting can be. I say, go with the colors you like. You are planning on painting all of the walls anyway you might as well choose the colors you like.

  2. Thank you Kelly for giving a great shout out for these other amazing pantone colours!

Yellow is perfect for spring. I’m also digging sodalite blue — so pretty.

  4. There are so many beautiful colors out there but the one to pick for our own “favorite 2012 color” is the one that makes us the happiest! Depending on the room I might use them in, I love both the orange and the lilac or purple…but I’d mostly use them in accent pieces and still use neutrals for wall colors and big furniture pieces. The Driftwood makes me feel very rested and serene…ahhhh……

  5. I like a lot of these much more than Tangerine Tango – thanks for sharing this list! Love Driftwood, Margarita, Lilac, Starfish – and they look great together :)

  6. I’m loving Driftwood, Bellflower, and Cockatoo – too! Thanks for reminding us there’s colour beyond Tangerine Tango! :-)
