* Get rid of countertop clutter. This simple step will free up visual space to make the room look larger. Baskets and trays don’t only look great, but they work well as organizers and help keep collections together:

* Glass front cabinets is another trick to make the room seem lighter and brighter:
* Good lighting. Many older homes do not have overhead kitchen lighting. It might be an investment to have lighting put into your kitchen, but image how nice the brightness will always welcome you. Maybe better lighting will help you cook better too!

If I was building a new house, I would definitely have some open shelving. Love it..and great pics of that Kelly!
When we redid our former home’s kitchen, we added a terrific new overhead lighting fixture. Sadly, it didn’t help me cook any better…haha! But I liked being in the kitchen more
One tip I used on my own kitchen was to paint everything the same color: ceiling, walls, cabinets, even the floor got painted SW Decor White. It really opened up the small space. The countertops were a very pale green that gave it just enough of a difference so it wasn’t too sterile. I added in a lot of “textural” things so it wasn’t blah. Everyone who came through when we were selling loved the kitchen

No tips to share, but I agree with all of yours! My favorite is probably the least expensive, and yet one of the hardest for so many to do… *Get rid of counter-top clutter! Why is that one so tough? In staging consultations when I suggest that one, I instantly grow 2 heads!
