Do you ever go back to these beautiful photos of your dream rooms and use them as inspiration for your next design project?

These pictures that you have saved because you love the style and looks of the room, can be used as a great starting point for your design. For an example, I have always loved this picture of this room:

So when I began my living room redesign, I referred to this photo, not to copy, but to get ideas of what I truly loved about the photo and used those ideas to build on in my design plan:

The yellow headboard? The mix of different patterns? Study these photos you love! They might give you some great ideas!

I do go back to my boards for all kinds of things… I just wish we could catalogue them better. I don’t want a million boards, yet as I keep pinning I see the need to break them down even more because it takes a while sometimes to go back through the images to find what I’m looking for! I agree with Kristie – can definitely see your living room evolving from the inspiration photo

Oh yes! Looking at photos for inspiration is a good thing It gives us something to aspire to even if we cannot get the total look. Or even if we see on item in the picture that we truly love and want.

I don’t mind trying to copy a room as closely as possible either. After all, as the saying goes “Imitation if the sincerest form of flattery.” Sometimes if the wheels already been invented, why try to reinvent. Haha!
