Thursday, March 19th, 2015

Looking to freshen up your rooms this Spring? Still trending BIG this year is the color coral:

Coral is a beautiful color to refresh and lighten up any room. A color combination I am in love with now is coral, navy blue and mineral blue:

I also am loving coral and turquoise together:

Unlike last Spring, coral colored accessories now are easy to find and at great prices. New towels for the bath:

Pillows for the sofa and bed:

Or a throw for the living room or bedroom:

Wouldn’t that blanket above look beautiful folded at the end of your bed?

The picture above shows how well coral works with many other colors. Including browns:

And grays:

Ballard Design even carries coral fabric at pretty good prices:

Or how about a beautiful, new rug for your entry or living room:

What do you think of the color coral? Do you agree that it is a great color to help bring Spring indoors this year? We certainly are deserving of a happy, bright color to bring in the warmth!

Twin Guest Beds

Sunday, February 8th, 2015

Horray! I am starting a new client project who wants twin beds in her guest room. Why am I so excited? Because I have wanted to help decorate a room with twin beds for a long time! Just look at these examples I have saved: twin1

Aren’t they great? I know these are kid’s rooms, but the color inspiration is wonderful. Although my client’s guest room will be also be used by adults, we do not want to be too serious with the room. Isn’t this pretty?: twin3

A Beautiful Greige- BM Grant Beige

Thursday, January 8th, 2015

grant beige bedroom

I never wrote about a specific beige before. But lately, I am drawn to this neutral medium beige with a touch of gray in it. Benjamin Moore’s Grant Beige HC-83 is nothing fancy, just a beautiful soft color for the walls:

Isn’t it beautiful? I just recently took the time to really look at it and see how subtle this beige is but with strength to not get lost in the room:

Grant Beige has green undertones which makes it easier to work with than the beiges with red or yellow undertones. Green undertones do not scream out, “ Look at me!” and will often work well with red or yellow undertones.

I love how well it works with whites, black, gray, red, green and blues. I am starting to design a room now with a color palette of grant beige, white and navy. Gorgeous!

And I love how it looks with stained trim:

What a beautiful room, isn’t it?

So, are these photos demonstrating why I am loving the Grant Beige color? Plus, this greige works with contemporary and transitional settings as well as traditional. What more can you ask of a beige?

I hope you enjoyed. Next time you are looking for that perfect beige, take a look at Grant Beige HC-83!

Online Coral & Aqua Bedroom Design

Wednesday, October 8th, 2014

I recently completed an online design plan for Carol on a new bedroom design that she said I could share. She is recently divorced and was looking for a beautiful and feminine bedroom to come home to.

I found a coral fabric that we used as a starting point for the room:

So pretty! Carol wanted white bedding, so she is going to use this fabric as a duvet folded at the bottom of bed and possibly even window panels.

She already has a bedroom set that we incorporated in our plan:

I gave her a couple different wall colors to think about and she decided to go with Benjamin Moore Simply White:

Fabric for pillows on bed and on new white chair:

A beautiful new mirror for over the dresser:

And here is Carol’s new bedroom design board:

We love it! Coral and aqua is such a pretty color combination. I also suggested finding an old dresser that she could paint in a soft aqua color. Carol promised to send after photos which I will be sure to share with you!
