Do you feel your space is a little boring and blue since you took down all of your Christmas decorations?

I finally got to taking down the tree and all the trimmings this week. Things have seemed just been a little off, since my mother in law passed away the other day. While looking at my (now) empty and decoration-less room, I thought of her and how much she loved flowers. Using that as inspiration and knowing how they used to make her smile, I decided to purchase a $10 bouquet to help cheer up the room.

Flowers make any room instantly happier, don’t you agree?

Another simple, inexpensive way to bring more life to any room is fresh new pillows:

How about bringing in the color of the year?

Look how pretty these pillows are from Target:

A trend I love that is becoming popular and is another inexpensive way to bring in color is painting interior doors:

Aren’t they beautiful!? I always suggest using a gloss finish paint, not matte, and to be sure to test a sample of the paint color before committing to the whole door.

I think painting an interior door will bring instant personality and color to any boring and gloomy space! Another project I have to try!

Does anyone have other ideas to share that will bring some color indoors now?

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend my friends!

Pantone

The Pantone ‘FASHION’ Color Report for Spring 2013 was released in late August for New York Fashion Week * September 6-13, 2012:

The color report that was announced in August is Pantone’s top 10 choices for their 2013 Fashion Color Report, a comprehensive overview of designer’s use of color in their upcoming collections. The report features 10 colors for women’s and men’s fashion for Spring 2013!

Although I do love most of the colors, (especially the Monaco Blue), these colors are the Spring Designer Fashion Colors that will be popular in Spring 2013. Pantone does not announce it’s ‘ Color Of The Year’  until the end of November- early December.

The release of this forecast also raises a big question….what will the 2013 color of the year be? It may be one of the colors in this Spring 2013 forecast, but which one? I predict it will be one of the shades of blue or green, but we’ll have to wait awhile to see. That won’t be announced until December. What color do you predict?

I am not tying to upset anyone (especially my blogger friends I LOVE!). I could have not posted anything when I saw this online at a few site’s today. But someone else is out there ready to write it and maybe not very kindly. I just wanted to not make a big deal out of it.

The Other Pantone 2012 Spring Colors

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

I have been seeing the color Tangerine Tango showing up more and more in home furnishings and accessories. And I do realize Tango won first place:

Sara Story

But there are a few more beautiful colors that were also chosen as top Pantone 2012 colors. As much as I like the tangerine, I also love to see all of these other Pantone picks that are showing up on the fashion runway and coming into our homes:

Did you know Crate & Barrel has announced yellow as the color for Spring 2012?

I love the color Sodalite Blue! It works so well with all of the other spring pick colors. How beautiful is this room?:

Starfish, a warm neutral hue:

Margarita, a piquant yellow-green hue:

Ben Moore also recently announced it’s 2011 Color of the Year:

Sing with me now – “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas mau-ve!!”  :)   I am telling you, they are headed for mauve country!  Look at their color choices, getting closer everyday!
